KEY INFORMATION

2011 Kawasaki VN1700 Vaquero – 24,691 Miles – £9,495

We’re really pleased to have this one back with us.

We originally imported this stunning 2011 Kawasaki VN1700 Vaquero a few years ago, and it was bought by one of our customers – a retired engineer and proper motorcycle enthusiast – who actually snapped this up at the same time as a VN2000 we also had for sale.

He’s looked after it properly and, more importantly, he’s spent money in all the right places.

In his own words:

“It’s got all the upgrades needed, ECU flashed by Ivan’s Euro agent, Vance & Hines pipes, filter, amp and 6.5 speakers, Bluetooth adaptor (the proper one), genuine driving lights added. Nearly new tyres. It’s as good as a Vaquero can be.”

And to be fair, we couldn’t really put it much better ourselves.

The Vaquero is Kawasaki’s big American-style bagger, built around the superb 1700cc V-twin engine with a six-speed gearbox and belt drive. They’re comfortable, torquey and incredibly capable touring bikes, with loads of road presence and a slightly different feel to the more obvious Harley-Davidson touring options.

This particular bike has been really well sorted.

It’s had the Ivan’s ECU flash, which is one of the most worthwhile upgrades you can make to these bikes, along with Vance & Hines pipes and an upgraded air filter. The result is a much nicer, smoother bike to ride with a bit more character to it as well.

The audio system has also been upgraded with an amp and 6.5-inch Rockford Fosgate speakers, plus a proper Bluetooth adaptor, so you can actually make full use of the sound system with a modern phone.

It also benefits from genuine Kawasaki driving lights, a tinted screen, passenger backrest, chrome luggage rack, engine bars with highway pegs, colour-coded hard panniers and nearly new tyres.

And just look at the condition of it.

The Candy Fire Red paintwork looks fantastic, the panniers are lovely and clean, the chrome is in great shape and the blacked-out 1700 motor really suits the bike. It has clearly been owned by somebody who has cared about it.

At 24,691 miles, it has been used and enjoyed, but it certainly hasn’t been abused. We know the bike, we know where it has come from, and we know the sort of owner it has had.

For extra peace of mind, it will also leave us with a 6-month Platinum Warranty.

If you’re looking for a Vaquero and want one that has already had the sensible upgrades done, this is exactly the sort of bike we’d be looking for ourselves.
