Yamaha XV1900 Stratoliner S – 1 Owner – Ultimate Seats – 30,723 Miles
1,854cc / 113ci V-Twin | Fully Loaded S Model | Fresh MOT | £6,995
If you are looking for a proper big-capacity cruiser with huge road presence, plenty of comfort and something a little different from the usual Harley-Davidson, this Yamaha XV1900 Stratoliner S is a seriously impressive machine.
This particular bike is a one-owner example with 30,723 miles and is in excellent condition throughout. It is also the much more desirable Stratoliner S, which was Yamaha’s premium, chrome-loaded version of the already highly specified Stratoliner.
On top of that, this one has been fitted with an expensive Ultimate rider and passenger seat set, which is a fantastic addition if you’re planning on doing any serious mileage. Ultimate seats are specifically designed with long-distance comfort in mind and are a big improvement over most standard cruiser seats.
So, what exactly is a Stratoliner S?
The Stratoliner was developed from Yamaha’s XV1900 Roadliner platform and was effectively the touring version of the bike.
You still get the same enormous 1,854cc / 113 cubic inch V-Twin, aluminium chassis and belt-drive transmission, but the Stratoliner was equipped from the factory for travelling with its large quick-release windscreen, leather-covered locking hard panniers and detachable passenger backrest.
The Stratoliner S then took things another step further.
The “S” wasn’t a different engine or a higher-performance model; it was Yamaha’s premium finish and specification. Compared with the standard bike, Yamaha added considerably more brightwork, including chrome switchgear, brake and clutch master cylinders and levers, chrome fork and fork covers, handlebar clamps, belt guard, shifter, front pulley and various engine covers, together with additional detailing around the rear of the bike and polished wheels.
It makes quite a difference when you see one in the flesh. There is chrome almost everywhere you look, and when combined with the Stratoliner’s unusual flowing bodywork and metallic paintwork, it gives the bike a much more expensive, almost factory-custom appearance.
Yamaha’s 1,854cc V-Twin
At the heart of the Stratoliner is Yamaha’s fantastic 1,854cc air-cooled 48-degree V-Twin.
It’s a traditional-looking pushrod engine with four valves per cylinder and electronic fuel injection, designed around producing a huge amount of usable low-down torque rather than needing to be revved hard.
The result is exactly what you want from a motorcycle like this. It has effortless pulling power, whether you’re riding solo, carrying a passenger or loaded up with luggage, and it’s incredibly relaxed when you’re covering longer distances.
Power goes through a 5-speed gearbox and belt final drive, so there is no chain to constantly clean, lubricate and adjust.
One of the clever things Yamaha did with the XV1900 platform was use a lightweight aluminium double-cradle frame rather than simply accepting that a large cruiser had to feel cumbersome. Yamaha also worked towards an almost 50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution, which is one of the reasons the Stratoliner feels surprisingly composed once you’re moving.
It is still a big motorcycle – and that’s part of its appeal – but it doesn’t ride like an old-fashioned heavyweight tourer.
Expensive Ultimate Seat Upgrade
One of the nicest additions to this particular bike is the Ultimate seat set.
These aren’t simply cosmetic replacement seats. Ultimate specialise in touring comfort, and anyone who has spent several hours at a time on a cruiser will appreciate just how much difference a genuinely supportive seat can make.
This bike has the Ultimate rider seat together with the matching passenger section, complemented by the large passenger backrest.
Combined with the Stratoliner’s wide floorboards, relaxed riding position and wind protection, it makes this a bike you could very happily spend an entire day on.
Fully Equipped for Touring
Being the Stratoliner S means this is already extremely well equipped.
You have the large touring screen to take the pressure off at motorway speeds, substantial leather-covered hard panniers for your luggage, the passenger backrest for comfortable two-up riding, huge rider floorboards and heel-and-toe gear selection.
And then, of course, you have all that chrome.
The engine is a real centrepiece on these bikes and Yamaha clearly put a lot of effort into making the mechanical parts something you actually want to look at. The polished and chromed engine covers, cooling fins, pushrod tubes, exhaust and controls all work beautifully with the flowing lines of the tank and bodywork.
It’s one of those motorcycles that looks better the longer you spend looking at it.
This Particular Bike
What we really like about this example is how well it has been looked after.
It has covered 30,723 miles, which is perfectly sensible mileage for a motorcycle designed specifically to cover big distances, and the overall condition of the bike is excellent.
The metallic silver paintwork presents extremely well and works beautifully with the enormous amount of chrome fitted to the S model. The panniers, screen, seating, wheels and brightwork all complement the bike nicely and it remains a very complete-looking machine.
It has already been through our pre-delivery inspection, the fluids have been checked and are all in good condition, and the bike was given a fresh MOT on 3rd September 2026.
So there isn’t a list of jobs waiting for the next owner.
It’s ready to get on and enjoy.

£6,995
The Yamaha XV1900 Stratoliner S is a superb choice for someone who wants the looks and character of a big American-style V-Twin cruiser but also appreciates Yamaha engineering, reliability and attention to detail.
They’re also becoming increasingly difficult to find in really nice condition, particularly the chrome-loaded S specification.
Add in the one-owner history, Ultimate touring seats, excellent overall condition and fresh MOT, and we think this represents an awful lot of motorcycle for £6,995.
A genuinely impressive big cruiser that is equally at home on a Sunday ride as it is loaded up for a week away.
