2024 Honda XR650L – One Owner – Just 34 Miles – Completely Stock – Fresh Florida Import – £11,995

A remarkable opportunity to own what is effectively a nearly new example of Honda’s legendary XR650L, showing an astonishing 34 miles from new.

This is a one-owner 2024 model, freshly imported by us directly from Florida, USA. It remains completely stock and presents in genuinely outstanding condition throughout. With so few miles covered, this bike has barely begun its life and offers a rare chance to own an unmodified XR650L in almost factory-fresh condition.

Finished in classic white with Honda’s striking red, blue and black XR graphics, this is the traditional big-bore Honda dual-sport many British riders have admired from afar but have never had the opportunity to purchase through a UK Honda dealership.

The Honda XR650L was never officially offered as a new model through the UK range. It was produced primarily for the North American market, making examples on British roads exceptionally uncommon—particularly late-model machines with mileage as low as this.

The Story of the Honda XR650L

Introduced in 1993, the XR650L was created as a proper road-legal, large-capacity dual-sport motorcycle: capable of tackling trails, forestry roads and rough terrain while still being fully equipped for use on the road.

Rather than constantly redesigning the bike to follow the latest trends, Honda retained the XR650L’s wonderfully straightforward and proven formula. Its combination of a tough steel frame, torquey air-cooled single-cylinder engine, long-travel suspension and uncomplicated mechanical design earned it an exceptionally loyal following.

Honda itself describes the XR650L as a tough, basic and tested dual-sport with a rugged steel frame, long-travel suspension and a proven engine requiring relatively little maintenance. Honda also credits the XR range’s Baja racing heritage as part of the model’s enduring reputation.

More than three decades after its introduction, the XR650L remains admired for exactly the same reasons it became successful in the first place: simplicity, durability, versatility and genuine off-road ability.

In a modern world of ride modes, complicated electronics, TFT screens and increasingly heavy adventure motorcycles, the XR650L offers something refreshingly different. It is a proper full-sized trail bike with a large-capacity single-cylinder engine, conventional controls and a direct, mechanical riding experience.

This Particular XR650L

This is an extremely special example.

It is a 2024 model with only 34 miles from new, supplied to its sole previous owner in the United States before being imported by us directly from Florida.

The bike remains in its original factory specification, with no performance modifications, cut bodywork, aftermarket exhaust or unnecessary accessories. For an enthusiast or collector wanting a completely genuine example, that originality is a major advantage.

The photographs clearly show just how little use this motorcycle has seen. The white bodywork retains a deep, clean gloss, while the model-specific graphics remain bright and sharp. The black seat covering is virtually unworn, and the engine cases, frame, swingarm, spokes, wheel rims and fasteners all present exceptionally well.

The condition of the running gear is equally impressive. The chain and sprockets appear almost unused, the brake discs are extremely clean and the chunky Bridgestone Trail Wing tyres retain excellent tread. Factory markings and labels remain visible around the swingarm and chassis, further reinforcing the bike’s exceptionally original presentation.

It still retains its:

  • Original Honda exhaust system and perforated heat shield
  • Factory airbox and carburettor arrangement
  • Original white handguards
  • Original mirrors and rectangular indicators
  • Factory headlight cowl and lighting
  • Full-length rear mudguard and number-plate mounting assembly
  • Original chain guard
  • Passenger footrests and seat grab strap
  • Rear-mounted tool pouch
  • Black factory rims with silver spokes
  • Original 2024 red, blue and black graphics

Even areas underneath the mudguards and around the engine cradle remain remarkably clean. This is not a restored motorcycle or an older bike made to look presentable—it is a genuine 34-mile machine that has seen virtually no use.

Proven Big-Bore Honda Engineering

At the heart of the XR650L is Honda’s 644cc air-cooled, dry-sump, single-cylinder four-stroke engine. It uses Honda’s four-valve RFVC cylinder-head design and a 42.5mm diaphragm-type CV carburettor.

The large-capacity single-cylinder engine is designed to produce a broad, usable spread of power rather than requiring constant gear changes. That makes the XR equally suited to navigating a technical trail, exploring country lanes or simply enjoying the distinctive character and low-down response of a traditional big Honda single.

Power is delivered through a five-speed gearbox and heavy-duty O-ring sealed chain final drive. Electric starting removes the inconvenience often associated with older large-capacity trail bikes, particularly when restarting on uneven ground or setting off on a cold morning.

Honda equipped the XR650L with a 43mm adjustable Showa cartridge front fork offering approximately 295mm of travel. At the rear is a Pro-Link Showa monoshock with spring-preload, compression and rebound adjustment, providing approximately 279mm of travel.

Combined with approximately 330mm of ground clearance, a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, this gives the XR650L the proportions and capability of a genuine off-road motorcycle rather than a road-biased adventure bike with off-road styling.

Braking is handled by a 256mm front disc with a twin-piston caliper and a 220mm rear disc. The motorcycle has a ready-to-ride curb weight of approximately 157kg, making it considerably more manageable than many modern multi-cylinder adventure machines.

Why This Bike Is So Special

Finding any late-model XR650L in the UK is unusual. Finding a one-owner 2024 example with just 34 miles, still wearing its complete original specification, is considerably rarer.

Many XR650Ls are purchased specifically for off-road use and are quickly modified with larger fuel tanks, aftermarket exhausts, luggage systems, revised suspension, altered gearing or shortened rear bodywork. While those modifications may suit individual owners, they make untouched examples increasingly difficult to locate.

This motorcycle provides a completely blank canvas. It can be preserved in its current factory specification, added to a serious Honda collection or carefully prepared for green-laning, trail riding and adventure travel by its new owner.

It would be equally appealing to a Honda enthusiast who remembers the great XR models of the 1980s and 1990s, a trail rider wanting a large-capacity machine without excessive electronics, or a collector searching for one of the lowest-mileage late-model XR650Ls available in the UK.

The motorcycle has now been checked over by us and is ready to go.
