Possibly one of the lowest-mileage XR650Ls you will ever find

Now this is something a little bit special.

We have had a few rare Hondas through the doors over the years, but finding a 2024 Honda XR650L with just 5 miles from new is pretty remarkable.

Five miles. That’s it.

As you would expect, the bike is in brand-new condition throughout and genuinely looks as though it has just come out of a Honda showroom. Finished in Honda’s fantastic white, red and blue colour scheme, it is an absolutely stunning example of what has become one of Honda’s longest-serving and most respected big-bore trail bikes.

The really interesting thing about the XR650L is just how little Honda has felt the need to change it.

The model first appeared back in 1993, taking much of its inspiration from Honda’s legendary XR600R but adding the big advantage of an electric-start 644cc engine and full road equipment.

More than 30 years later, the basic recipe is still the same.

And that is exactly why people love them.

While modern adventure bikes have become increasingly complicated, the XR650L remains wonderfully old-school. There are no riding modes, TFT screens or masses of electronics. Instead you get a 644cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, carburettor, five-speed gearbox, electric start and chain drive.

Simple, proven Honda engineering.

It is also a proper dual-purpose motorcycle rather than simply an adventure-styled road bike. Honda fitted the XR650L with long-travel Showa suspension, a proper 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel, substantial ground clearance and a riding position that works equally well on the road or when things get a little rougher.

The 2024 model also looks fantastic. The white bodywork with the red, blue and black XR graphics gives it that unmistakable classic Honda competition look, while the black rims, fork gaiters, handguards and rectangular headlight complete the proper old-school trail-bike appearance.

And then we come back to the mileage.

5 miles from new.

It is incredibly unusual to find any XR650L in the UK, but to find a 2024 example that has essentially never been used is another thing altogether.

Whether somebody buys this to actually use and enjoy, adds it to a collection or simply wants what must be one of the best late-model XR650Ls available, it is going to be extremely difficult to find another one quite like it.
