What an incredible machine this is. This Yamaha XV1700 Warrior is not your average big cruiser — it is one of Yamaha’s finest power-cruisers, a bike built to combine the look, torque and presence of a traditional American-style V-twin with the handling, braking and engineering normally associated with a serious performance motorcycle.

The Warrior arrived in the early 2000s as Yamaha’s bold answer to the muscle-cruiser market. Launched for 2002, the XV1700 Road Star Warrior used a fuel-injected 1,670cc air-cooled V-twin engine, a five-speed gearbox and belt drive, delivering huge low-down torque with the reliability and refinement Yamaha are so well known for. It was not simply a dressed-up cruiser; Yamaha gave the Warrior an aluminium chassis, inverted forks and serious braking hardware, creating a cruiser that could be ridden hard and enjoyed properly rather than simply admired outside a café.
