2007 Suzuki M109R Custom — Tampa Elite Motorcycle & Customs Build
Lowered, Chromed, 280 Rear Tyre, Freedom Performance Exhaust — £10,995
Now this is not your average Suzuki M109R.
This absolutely stunning 2007 Suzuki M109R has been tastefully customised in Florida by Tampa Elite Motorcycle & Customs, and the result is a serious head-turner. Finished in crisp white with bold blue accents, dripping in chrome and sitting with a proper low-slung muscle-cruiser stance, this bike has the kind of presence you simply do not get from a standard example.
The Suzuki M109R was Suzuki’s answer to the muscle cruiser market — a big-capacity, performance-focused V-twin cruiser built with attitude, power and road presence at its core. Also known in some markets as the Intruder M1800R, the M109R brought superbike-inspired engineering into the cruiser world, combining a huge 1,783cc / 109 cubic inch fuel-injected V-twin with aggressive styling, shaft drive and a wide rear tyre straight from the factory. Even in standard form, the M109R is known for being one of the most muscular Japanese cruisers ever produced — low, wide, powerful and full of character.
This example takes that already impressive platform and turns the volume right up.
The first thing you notice is the stance. The bike has been lowered to give it that ultimate custom boulevard-cruiser look — long, low and planted. It sits beautifully, making the most of the M109R’s naturally muscular frame and giving the whole bike a far more aggressive silhouette than a standard machine.
Then come the wheels. This bike has been fitted with fully chromed deep-dish billet alloy wheels, which completely transform the look. Up front it runs a Metzeler ME880, while the rear has just been fitted by us with a brand new Metzeler ME888 280-wide rear tyre. That huge rear end gives the bike a seriously imposing custom look from every angle.
The chrome upgrades continue throughout. The brake discs feature fully chromed centres, the rear caliper mount is chrome, and chrome covers have been added to the rear caliper. The rear swingarm has also been dressed with chrome plate, while the opposite side benefits from a stylish chrome cover over the driveshaft and rear pumpkin, helping the whole rear end blend beautifully with the deep-dish rear wheel.
The exhaust system is another major highlight. Fitted with a short wrap-around Freedom Performance aftermarket exhaust, the bike has a super aggressive look and a proper V-twin lope. It delivers exactly the sort of deep, muscular sound that cruiser fans love — not just noise, but character. It suits the bike perfectly and gives it the attitude its looks promise.
On both sides, the bike is fitted with chrome aftermarket air intakes, adding to the custom appearance while helping the big V-twin breathe. We have personally ridden this bike for around 15 miles, and it certainly feels like it has even more grunt than a standard M109R — and that is saying something, because even a standard one is no slouch.
Further upgrades include chrome engine covers, aftermarket chrome grips, billet levers, a chrome billet side stand and an aftermarket voltage gauge mounted on the handlebars. The details have clearly been chosen to work together, rather than simply added for the sake of it. Everything ties into the overall theme: bright chrome, low stance, big power and custom American cruiser attitude.
The white and blue paintwork really sets the bike apart. It is fresh, clean and unusual, giving the M109R a show-bike look without losing the aggressive muscle-cruiser feel. The custom white vinyl seat finishes the bike off beautifully, and it also comes with a passenger seat and backrest should you wish to take a pillion.
We purchased this bike from the second owner, who clearly cherished it. It has been garage kept and maintained up to date. This is not the sort of custom M109R that comes up often in Florida, and examples like this are even rarer here in the UK.
This is a properly special motorcycle — a big-capacity Suzuki muscle cruiser with serious custom work, the right stance, the right wheels, the right exhaust and the right presence. Whoever buys this bike is getting one bad-ass M109R that looks incredible from every angle and sounds every bit as good as it looks.
Custom M109Rs of this quality do not hang around for long.
