Every now and then we find a motorcycle in America where the condition immediately tells you exactly how it has spent its life – and this 2006 Harley-Davidson FXDWGI Dyna Wide Glide is one of those bikes.

Freshly imported by us from Florida, this is an absolutely stunning example with just 17,218 miles from new and only two owners throughout its life.

Even better, we purchased the bike directly from its second owner, an Englishman who has been living in Florida and who owned the Harley for an incredible 18 years. He kept it garaged, looked after it exceptionally well and assures us that during his ownership the bike never saw the rain.

Normally we would take that sort of statement with a pinch of salt – but take one look at this bike and it is very easy to believe him.

The condition is quite simply exceptional.

The chrome is beautifully preserved, the engine and cycle parts are remarkably clean, the laced wheels present superbly and the Pearl White paintwork still looks fantastic. Even when you get right down into the areas that normally give away the life a motorcycle has led – brakes, suspension, wheel hubs, engine casings, fasteners and underneath the bodywork – it is obvious this Harley has been cherished rather than simply cleaned up for sale.

A particularly desirable year for the Dyna Wide Glide

The 2006 Wide Glide is a particularly nice specification, combining Harley-Davidson’s characterful 1,450cc Twin Cam 88 V-twin with electronic fuel injection and the 6-speed transmission.

That makes this a great combination for anyone who wants the traditional feel and sound of the 1450 Twin Cam, but with the added usability of fuel injection and six gears.

The Wide Glide itself has always been Harley-Davidson’s factory take on the classic American chopper, with its long front end, skinny 21-inch laced front wheel, raked forks, forward controls, high bars and distinctive bobtail rear end.

And this particular example just looks right.

The Pearl White paintwork, complete with contrasting flame graphics and fine pinstriping, works beautifully against the extensive chrome throughout the bike.

The previous owner had the bike for 18 years, kept it garaged and clearly took enormous pride in looking after it.
