What a stunning example of Yamaha’s legendary XV1900 Raider.

Originally designed specifically for the American market, the Raider was Yamaha’s answer to the high-end custom cruiser scene: long, low, aggressively styled and powered by an enormous 1,854cc / 113 cubic inch V-twin producing masses of low-down torque.

Unlike many cruisers that have to be heavily modified to achieve the custom look, Yamaha designed the Raider this way from the outset. Its huge 21-inch front wheel, wide 210-section rear tyre, stretched fuel tank, low riding position and radically raked front end give it the appearance of a bespoke custom bike, while retaining Yamaha’s renowned engineering and reliability.

This particular 2009 example is a genuine one-owner motorcycle from new, having spent its entire life in Florida before arriving with us.

It has covered 30,988 miles, has been garage kept from new and remains in excellent condition throughout. The warmer, drier Florida climate has clearly been kind to it, with the bike presenting exceptionally well and showing none of the heavy corrosion often seen on UK-used machines of a similar age.

The Liquid Silver paintwork with factory-style flame graphics and red pinstriping looks fantastic in person, particularly when combined with the polished-edge wheels, black engine and chrome detailing.

It has also been fitted with a superb set of Freedom Performance wrap-around exhaust pipes. These follow the lines of the engine beautifully and give that massive 113ci V-twin the soundtrack it deserves.

The rear has been given a fender-delete treatment, removing the bulky original number-plate arrangement and leaving a much cleaner, more minimalist rear end that really shows off the wide rear tyre and flowing bodywork.
