1997 Honda Goldwing GL1500 SE – SN487

The fact that this bike is 27 years old actually amazes me – I ride a lot of different bikes and admittedly each bike is good for one thing or the other but this bike has to be the ultimate cross country touring machine. These Goldwings are super comfortable, powerful, smooth, reliable and also incredibly well equipped.

Okay it hasn’t got bluetooth or DAB but for a 1997 bike it does have a lot of spec including am FM/AM radio, this one has a iphone audio adapter (if you have another  make of phone I believe this could be adapted as well), a windscreen wiper that has a water tank in the rear (I think this is only on the Jap imports), cruise control, air suspension that can be increased or decreased depending on how much you are carrying, huge amounts of storage, air vents for those cold days, reverse gear (yes it works!) and most likely an abundance of other things I’ve forgot to mention. Oh and lets not forget the price tag for this one in particular sitting in at only £4,295!! That’s a lot of bang for your buck especially as it only has 36,500 miles (58,779km).

We took this one in particular in on part exchange for our Triumph Rocket 3 Touring and you can tell it has been looked after throughout its life. The chap who we took it in from made sure it always got anything it needed and also has had it serviced himself every year for the passed 6 years. Our mechanic has gone through the bike, he’s ridden it about 15 miles including to the MOT station so it now has 12 months until January 2025.

Too good to trade, grab a deal while you can.

All in all a great value bike that will no doubt give somebody many happy years of riding!
