2015 Suzuki VZR1800/M1800R (M109R) B.O.S.S – SN509

Well here we have a lot of bike for the money…

This here is a Suzuki M1800R or sometimes referred to as a VZR1800 or even M109R – It is the B.O.S.S. Edition which stands for Black Out Suzuki Special.

Over a dozen parts normally painted or chromed — the mirrors, handlebars, clutch and brake levers, handle switches, front fork outer tubes, steering stem head, tank cover, air cleaner cap, clutch and magneto covers, cylinder head and side covers, final gear case, mufflers, brake calipers, jiffy stand and the wheels — are blacked out to give the Boulevard M109R B.O.S.S. an almost sneak-into-the-night stealthy look.

I was offered this bike in a part exchange deal for our 2014 Honda Valkyrie and quite simply couldn’t say no – the bike is absolutely stunning as you can see from the photos and the video, not a scratch or a ding to mention and mechanically the bike is good as the mileage (only 6,000!).

The chap who traded this in admitted he was going to customise it but couldn’t bring himself to do it so he ended up buying a ‘project’ M109R instead that I saw whilst delivering (he has so far done a very good job!).

The bike has had the ECU flashed by BSD Engineering & Performance costing £245 (I have an invoice for this), this takes the performance to a whole new level!

The bike is fitted with custom air filters which cost £250 and fit in very nicely with the appearance.

At 6,200 miles the bike also had a full service including the following:

– Full brake fluid flush
– Front HEL brake lines + calipers cleaned
– Spark plugs renewed
– Oil/filter changed
– 2x Suzuki air filters
– Front & Rear wheel bearings
– Shaft drive oil level checked
– Coolant level checked and topped up

The M1800R is Suzuki’s bid to lure sport bike riders over into the world of cruisers by offering a high degree of engineering technology taken from its GSX-R, coupled to the brutal performance of a drag bike. And on paper it kind of all makes sense.

These bike are seriously cool to ride, they pretty much have everything including handling, speed, comfort and it has that real muscle cruiser presence.

At £8,495 this bike is seriously a bargain, the HPI report states it is a CAT N ‘write off’ meaning non structural damage. The owner before the last dropped the bike into his wall causing damage to the tank meaning a repair was needed – instead of just getting the tank repaired at his local body shop he went through insurance who decided to write it off.

As you can see from the photos the bike has been professionally repaired and like I said before, this bike is now at an absolute steal of a price – if you can see past the paperwork stating CAT N then you are about to land yourself one hell of a deal, if you can’t handle the CAT N mentally then unfortunately you’re missing out! If it wasn’t a CAT N it would be going up for £10,995!
